Great for may be when you are in your 20s

I bought this cream after my pregnancy and delivery. I loved the smell and texture but i just felt that it didn't do much for me. On the other hand i really love the ultimate miracle worker cream that i purchased at the same time. This cream may be great for younger skin.

My Holy Grail

I am in love with the original Hope in jar moisturizer. When I was younger (in my teens to mid twenties) I had that perfect, effortless skin. No breakouts, not dry, not oily, I did not need any special routine or products to keep it that way. However, around my mid twenties I started getting dry patches on my cheeks as well as, an oily, break out and blackhead prone T-zone. Hello, adult acne. I tried everything to get my skin back to its former glory. I tried changing my routine and washing my face 2-3 times a day, I tired Murad, I tried switching to different foundations and primers. I tried adding new skin care products to my routine-serums, face washes, peels, etc. I tried products from high price points to products from the drugstore but nothing worked. I scoured YouTube skincare reviews and routines and finally came across Hope in a jar as a suggestion and Hallelujah! It works. It sinks into the skin quickly and leaves my dry patches feeling moisturized and soft without leaving any residue or sticky feeling to the skin. Finally a product that moisturizes my dry patches without aggravating my T-zone. Intact it actually improves my oily, break out prone areas! After a couple of weeks my breakouts has cleared up, I noticed less blackheads, and t-zone felt less oily in general. It also sits beautifully under makeup since it doesn’t leave any residue on the skin(even when I’m feeling especially try and apply a thick layer all over or second layer where my skin is prone to dryness). I just hope that philosophy will continue to make this original formula and not replace it with their new formulation, “Hope in a jar renewed”, as I have tried that as well and did not enjoy it. As long as Philosophy keeps making Hope in a jar, I will keep buying it. I noticed a difference in my skin immediately when I’m not using it. As a side note, my husband and move around frequently for his career and this moisturizer works for my skin under any conditions, whether we’re in the hot, humid South (Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina) or in the dry, cold North and Midwest (Ohio, Minnesota, Upstate New York).

The Original Is Better

I am in love with the original Hope in jar moisturizer. Unfortunately all my local retailers no longer stock it and only carry this new version now. The last time I ran out I thought I would give this a try instead of ordering the original one online. That was a big mistake. When I was younger (in my teens to mid twenties) I had perfect, effortless skin. No breakouts, not dry, not oily, and required no special routine or products to keep it that way. However, around my mid twenties I started getting dry patches as well as an oily, break out and blackhead prone T-zone. Hello, adult acne. The original version of this moisturizer was my holy grail. It sinks in quickly to the skin leaving my skin feeling moisturized without leaving any residue or sticky feeling to the skin. This new version doesn’t feel as moisturizing and it leaves being a residue that pills up and does not layer well under makeup. The original formula softened my dry patches and kept my oily areas from breakouts and blackheads. This new version, not so much. I’ve noticed tons of new blackheads. After a few weeks of trial I will be reordering the original and ditching this new version. I just hope that philosophy will continue to make the original formula and not replace it with this new formulation.
