best moisturizer ever!
PostedJune 9, 2011
i don't know why i waited so long to try this. i've been using it for just a week and can already say i'm going to a philosophy friend forever. i have combo skin that leans toward oily in the summer months. it's hard to describe the texture but i feel like i'm actually squishing water onto my skin when i apply this. my skin is perfectly moisturized without feeling suffocated.

if i had to pick one item it would be this one

if i could only have one beauty item, i would pick this one. i love it, and although i though the scent was just okay at first, i love the scent now too. i have tried several other moisturizers from philosophy and i have used the super expensive ones from department stores, all natural organic moisturizers and just about everything else. This one beats them all, hands down, i was getting the sample for it every time i ordered something, just so i could let other people try it. i just wish the spf had the same texture as the original.

beyond amazing

I started using this moisturizer in 2009. i researched the heck out of it before i bought it, and mainly did so after seeing it on qvc. ive heard all the complaints about how it smells. when i bought my first jar, i didnt think it smelled anything like some people were making it out to be like... i read one review where a lady described it as smelling like "rotten decaying fish" that's a pretty big exaggeration in my opinion.
i have really oily tzone, and the rest of my face is extremely dry and flakey. after my first jar i stopped using it for several months, and went back to regular store bought facial moisturizer... after using olay and garnier moisturizers, i became fed up. they arent quite as expensive as this, but i can see why honestly. this stuff is worth every penny and ill tell you why...
about a year ago i started to get extremely dry skin that would build up in a matter of hours, around the creases of my nose. i could pick/peel it off but then over a few days the area would become dry and irritated, and extremely oily. after going to see the doctor, she convinced me that i had some kind of reaction to a natural fungus that's always on the skin, but doesn't affect most people. it's just "there". I tried several anti fungal creams around the area. they seemed to get rid of it, but then stopped working after about a week of changing between 3 different kinds. id keep going back to a different one every time one stopped working. the redness and irritation got so bad that it literally became an issue for me to go out and function in public, because i felt like i had this terrible "rash" around my nose.
I still happened to have an old bottle of hope in a jar, and decided to start applying it after washing my face every night. the very first day i started using it again, after several months of not using it, the redness and dry skin was 'completely' gone. I was shocked! I continued to use it all over my face, not just around my nose, and couldn't believe i ever stopped using it! my skin gets pretty red and is sensitive on top of the issue with the dry skin around my nose. hope in a jar totally evened out my skin again.
after that ran out (I only had about a quarter of a 1oz jar left) I went back again and started using a regular store bought moisturizer, just to see if my problem came back again... sure enough about a week and a half later, i gradually started to notice the dry flakey skin building around the creases of my nose, yet again...
i continued to use the 'bad' moisturizer for another 3 weeks until it made no difference in getting rid of any redness or dry skin. i noticed even my cheeks were getting their usual flakey patches back again.
so i went down to macys, bought the 4oz jar of this stuff, and i have never looked back. i will not 'ever' use another moisturizer again! no more dry skin, no more doctor visits trying to tell me its a fungus and prescribing me all kinds of expensive and useless creams to kill it off... hope in a jar is beyond amazing and i thank whoever came up with this stuff from the bottom of my heart. i dont know what exactly it is that works so well on my skin, but after years of having red, irritated, and dry skin, this is the one thing that has gotten rid of it completely and I didn't need to go on any special regimen for a month to see results. one or two days is enough. using it even longer than that on a daily or twice daily basis provides even more results for me. I hope they 'never' stop making this and don't ever change it!
thank you philosophy!

i have sensitive skin that tends to be oily. i have never found a moisturizer that works so well. i apply it as part of my daily routine. it leaves my skin soft, moisturized and never greasy.
