Body Oil Trial

Several years ago, I switched from using lotions to dry body oils for my primary hydration. I was a "get up ten minutes before you have to leave" kind of a person, and I couldn't find a lotion to apply that could absorb fast enough for my hurried preparation.
I have a couple of standby favorites now, but something in me always wonders if there's something out there that works better, hydrates deeper, smells more divine.
Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil was my most recent attempt to find a superior product. Here's what I found:
1. This oil is far thicker than dry body oils. Instead of spritzing it on after a shower and rubbing it in, you have to pour it into your hand and massage into your body. It takes more time than I like but does seem to be worth it.
2. This oil has a far heavier scent than other oils I've tried. It smells sort of minty and reminds me of an essential oils experience. Every time I apply it, I think there are probably benefits to breathing this in. It's not a scent I'm personally offended by, but it doesn't smell "divine" either.
3. This oil is a deeper hydrator for sure. The bottle recommends a cool shower post-application, which seals in the moisture. My skin feels very soft, and one of my (red) scars has started to fade.
4. To cover the whole body means that you'll go through a lot of product quickly. I haven't finished a bottle yet but estimate that I'll be through with it in a month (at one application per day). That's similar to how the other oils have lasted me--just at a higher price point.
Bottom line: I'd buy this product again--especially in the winter--as long as the money is in my budget and I don't have to go anywhere in a hurry.

Amazing Body Oil!

I have been in love with Clarins for years and I had held off on purchasing the oil as I felt it would be just one more thing to add to my regime. Well - I finally splurged on the oil to see if it would help my dry skin. I immediately fell in love. I cant say enough about how well this hydrates my dry skin. As a woman, there is nothing like taking a hot bath, shaving your legs, moisturizing them and crawling into fresh sheets!! Ladies - you know what I mean! So - back to the oil, so if you are just a little dry you can use this alone. I prefer to apply this and then my Clarins Extra Firming body lotion on afterwards. My skin is soft and silky and hydrated. The extra step is worth the investment in your skin. I wish I had known about this before my two pregnancies. It would have been a life saver!
Also - just a tip - if you are lucky to have someone rub your back after a long day, take this oil and mix it with your moisturizer or lotion and it makes a great scented massage cream. It lasts a long time and does not clump up!!
This oil is amazing. Used it during my pregnancy with twins and now using after having my twins. It leaves my skin feeling wonderful. Not greasy at all. A very little amount goes very far so the product lasts long.
I have been happy with most Clarins products and this oil tonic has been no exception. smells great ( Some may note that the botanical scent can smell a bit like medicine, but I enjoy it. ) and works great!
