Pale Mauve is a gorgeous color!

I randomly picked a few lip colors to buy last month and Pale Mauve was one of them. I've long been exclusive to Bobbi Brown lipsticks -- they are ridiculously easy to wear (color-wise) and they really have been the "can't-go-wrong" line for me. So, Pale Mauve has been an excellent color for me, as someone who has pale but olive toned skin, brown eyes, and blondish-brownish hair. Sandwash Pink (which is a bit more rich than Pale Mauve) is another color I have worn often, just for reference. The Pale Mauve is at the far end of the spectrum for me, where it is so light, that I often use a lipliner in addition. (I would never wear lipliner otherwise). But the effect of pale well-done lips is wonderful. I confess that I don't like my lips to stand out! It's just not my scene. No "pop of color" for me -- just well-colored lips that look natural but have a little bit more pigment than my natural lips (which have hardly any pigment!).

great color but too dry

This was my first BB lip color and was hoping to have found my perfect lipstick. The color Brown is awesome but I realize the formula is too dry/matte. Color doesn't last long on me and it tended to get cakey emphasizing my lip lines. Will exchange for the Luxe Lip color to see how that works for me. Wanted to love, but only sort of like.

Soft, Pretty, and Natural Shades

I absolutely love my Brownie Pink! I have light-medium skin and blonde hair, and the nude pink shade comes off as a subtle and soft complement to my natural lip color and does not compete with whatever shade of eye makeup I use. It gives just enough umph to boost my confidence and to enhance an everyday lovely look. I've received several complements on the shade, and will definitely be buying another tube when I run out!
