As a flat footed man with no arches and plantar issues, I ordered these sandals as an experiment to see if they would change the pain level versus my Eccos. I love my eccos and own three pairs of the Yucatan series. Overall extremely happy with the Mephisto sandals on fit and finish along with best part, Arch support. Since I have no arch at all these were pain full to wear at the beginning but that went away after the first week with total comfort throughout. Due to heel pain I had been having, these sandals went a long way in diminishing this at the initial point of breakin to no heel pain while walking the mall for most of a day. Shared these sandals with my physical therapist who was impressed with boot support and the amount of heel depth. Normally would not spend this type of money on a sandal but I am going to say this will say this was a great decision for myself and my feet.
This is my 3rd pair of Shark sandal. I like the new buckle system. The shoe is comfortable but expensive. It is well made. However, the outsole of my previous two pairs broke/cracked around the meddle after several years. Nordstrom gave me a new pair replacement for the first pair. I didn't go to complain for the 2nd.
