I am very happy with the sandals and I think Mephistos' are the best!

Good Quality with one flaw

Really wanted to have these BUT the lack of 3 way adjustment results in too loose of a fit around ankle. For me, a third adjustment strap on heal portion (like on other models) would have allowed me to keep them. Oh well. They are well built and I'm sure someone with larger ankles would love them.
I have purchased three pair of these sandals for my husband over the past ten years. He wears them daily, and almost exclusively. They wear like iron and are incredibly comfortable and fairly stylish. Yes, they are expensive, but considering each pair has lasted for three + years, they're actually a bargain!

Good Advice - Order down a size.

Looking at my old Mephisto sandals from 2001 I knew it was time to get a new pair and while normally I wouldn't think of paying almost $300 for shoes to wear to the beach, my old pair had lasted over 15 years and based on life expectancies, I won't be making this decision again. I'm a size 11 which according to the chart is a Mephisto 45, so I followed the chart's advice and ordered down a size (44) and can only say I wish I knew this back in 2001 because my old pair was always a little loose. My new pair is a perfect fit!
