Lavender has been said to have antiseptic and healing properties. Since this cream has lavender essential oil, it is very soothing on sensitive skin. I use this in conjunction with the lavender pre-shave oil, followed up by the lavender after shave balm. You can tell this is a quality product as soon as you open the jar. The smell alone takes your breath away, in a good way!
I also find this cream effective as I have suffered with razor bumps for most of my adult shaving life.

Like most TAOS products, it's not bad -- just overpriced relative to quality. It's pretty similar to the highly regarded Taylors of Old Bond Street lavender -- which is HALF the price. And simply not even in the same league as the similarly priced Castle Forbes version.
