I have never liked lipstick (too goopy, leaves marks on coffee cups/straws/wine glasses, doesn't feel good on my lips) so I generally wear tinted lip balm (Blistex to be specific). So, when I saw this, wow, I had to try it -- that container, seriously sleeker and sexier than lip balm, right?!? And yes, I agree w/ other reviewers, the color is fabulously flattering!! Four stars though because I don't think it moisturizes/protects my lips as well as the aforementioned lip balm.

One of my Clinique favorites. Been using this in Black Honey for years and goes perfectly with my complexion as an everyday no-makeup makeup look. I hope Clinique keeps this one around forever!

My New (and Forever) Go-To Lipstick

I remember wearing this lipstick years ago, just after I got married. I loved it but life got busy and the budget got tight so I made do with a basic lip balm. Well, this year my mother-in-law bought me a Clinique sampler for Christmas and the Almost Lipstick in Black Honey was in there. I was hesitant at first since it looks so dark, but she assured me the saleswoman had assured her that it would look lighter once applied. I quickly tried it out and holy cow, was I pleased! This "lipstick" is incredibly smooth, lightweight, and the perfect color. For me, it's a sophisticated, slightly dark rosy lip, which is perfect for work. I fell in love with it and have since plowed through the sample. Of course, I had to order more! I pair it with a lipgloss to keep it shiny and it's the perfect addition to my mostly natural makeup routine.

Tint vs lipstick

I was expecting this to be a lipstick, but it's more like a tinted chapstick. I love it to wear on days where I just want a little color, but it's definitely not something I would wear on days when I wanted a full color! I will buy again when this one runs out!
