Almost Perfect...

I received this as a sample and was hesitant to try it due to how dark it looked (Black Honey). I was pleasantly surprised. The colour is fabulous. It it sheer, but you can build it to be as dark as you like. The only downside is that while it is very moisturizing when you first apply it, I found that my lips dried out a few hours later. I do have very dry skin (and lips), so that likely won't be a problem for most. I've been experimenting with applying moisturizer before application because I love the colour so much. While it helps, it doesn't completely solve my problem. For now, it is an amazing lipstick for an evening out but not an all day product for me.

I got this lipstick in Black Honey as a sample, and boy did I try to spread out its use as long as I could. That was about 10 years ago, and I now refuse to NOT have this in my makeup arsenal. I have pretty fair skin and it doesn't wash me out. My friends try it on (have darker skin shades than I do) and it looks just as good on them! I swear it's like the "traveling pants" of lipsticks - it looks good on everyone!!! You will not be unhappy with this purchase. This is my MUST HAVE WITH ME lipstick.

Beautiful, natural flush

I own both pink and black honey and they're both amazingly natural slicks of colour that accentuate your skin tone perfectly. Pink honey is a glittery (the reason why I docked a star) pinky-red flush on me, whereas black honey is a perfectly muted berry red-brown that can be built up in intensity, with no discernable glitter or shimmer. The finish reminds me of lip stains except much more moisturising!! I love it and black honey has replaced nearly every deeper red stain in my collection. I only wish this was packaged like clinique's other lipsticks, I'm not a fan of skinny tubes. However, it is extremely easy to located in my makeup bag due to the distinctive shape!

I received the sample of the product. The color was not what I was expecting, but I liked the quality. It was quite moisturizing, light and resisted for many hours. I'd advise to create more color choices for this item, as its quality is good, but I'd buy it only if there are more color choices. Current two are not very attractive.
