I know it's a "cult favorite", so I tried it with eager anticipation when I received the sample. The translucency of the color is really neat and unique, and it doesn't really look dark when you apply it. But personally, I didn't like how it felt after hours of wearing it. For me, other Clinique glosses feel more comfortable and long wearing (such as Chubby Sticks, which is the best gloss I've ever used).

i have the almost lipstick trio and i wish there were more shades of them because i absolutely love the formula! i can wear them alone and tender honey is phenomenal over matte lipsticks when i don't want my lips to be dried out. it's the best of a gloss without the stickiness

I love the smooth, easily-applied formula, and Black Honey is a unique, possibly seasonal shade which flatters nearly everyone. A lighter touch will (obviously) produce a lighter color on the lips, as a second application will produce an altogether different shade. I'd heard about this product and tested it at the Clinique counter at a local department store. The Almost Lipstick is soft and glides on effortlessly and the color is, well, you'll just have to try it on. Now I know why it's stood the test of time and is considered a classic. You cannot go wrong with this one.
