I most often wear a size 8 M in shoes, sometimes a 7.5 in higher heels or certain brands...never an 8.5. I have custom orthotics that I wear in all my sneakers after I remove the factory insole. That said, I've I always needed a 9 in Nike sneakers (the brand I most often purchase) to accommodate my orthotics. I initially ordered an 8.5 in these sneakers, but they seem (like Nike's) to run slightly short in length compared to non-sneakers...plenty wide, but a little short. I ended up with a 9, which works perfectly. Bottom line: if you're a Nike wearer, buy the same size in these sneakers.
I love the look of these sneakers, which I wear casually only, so I can't comment on how these perform for athletics. Sizing aside, because of the rounded toe, sole, and material placement, these really make your feet look small. Great style, and a good value even at full price compared to other sneakers.

This sneaker is very cute and goes with pants and skirt. It is light and comfortable enough.
This shoe is just what I was looking for. After wearing white sneakers for years, I began looking for gray shoes to replace them. These shoes by New Balance fit the bill! They are stylish, comfortable, true to size and look great with a pair of jeans. Thanks New Balance and Nordstrom!
Had been looking for a long time for new sneakers. I tend to be very picky as I want something comfortable, but cute. These are great sneakers that are as flattering as they are comfortable. I am very happy.
