I origionally got this because I work in front of a 3000+ degree torch & I do public glass blowing competitions. I was about to go to one in Vegas where I would be put on a bunch of 72" monitors & I did NOT want my makeup running for all 4000 people to see!!! The day after I got this & the longwear eyeliner, a close friend passed away. I went to the funeral wearing this makeup in hopes that it wouldnt run down my face as much as normal makeup. I cried my eyes out for hours and the makeup did not budge! I must have looked so heartless and unmoved by my dear friends passing, especially to all the other girls who had makeup running down their faces! I then wore it to the competition and it worked WONDERFULLY! I even had the editor of a Mag come up to me and ask "are you wearing Mac makeup?" I then noticed that she was wearing it too! Several other girls asked afterwards how I kept it looking so great while I was sweating like crazy for 3hrs straight. Then right when it was over & I was ready to go change & party, I was caught off guard by a camera crew wanting an interview...boy was I glad I ordered this makeup!!!

With the winter looming, I wanted a smudge-free waterproof mascara for those wet and windy days. The brush is thin and gives you a natural lash look which you can build up and doesn't clump when it is applied - but does have a chemical smell which is a bit off-putting. I wore it last week, along with eyeshadow, eyeliner etc and found that it was ok but still not as good as my Studio Fix Lash. At the weekend, I only applied foundation and mascara for the total natural look and off out I went. By early afternoon, I had a trip to the ladies' and shock horror - the panda eyes look was unbelievable (no wind or rain during the day!) It had smudged all around under my eyes and over on my eyelids too. I got as much off as I could but still had a dark look around my eyes. Later that evening, I was chopping onions and was crying. I blotted under my eyes and the tissue had no trace of mascara on it which I was pleased with. Dished up dinner - sat down at the table and my partner asked me what I'd done to my face as I was black all around the eyes again.

Amazing Mascara!

This mascara is by far the best I have ever tried!! You can really splash and cry away, because this Mascara WILL NOT BUDGE! (Unless you cry makeup remover LOL) Ok, anyways, the brush is the perfect shape to get right to the base of your lashes, and when you wiggle the wand as you move up, your lashes are full, defined and voluminous! This is such a great mascara!! However, if you want that Dramatic, Beyond Real appearance, I'm not so sure how much you'll like this. Anyways, Good Job MAC!

For this being MAC's only waterproof mascara, I thought it would be MUCH better. I love mascara that thickens & lengthens lashes, but I found this one to be really thin. I had to put multiple coats on & even then it didn't compare to my usual mascara choice from another brand. I would not reccomend this mascara for someone who wants thicker, longer looking lashes.
