On the fence on this one. I purchased this as a powder to set my eye makeup, ie to stop my gorgeous awesome chanel eyeliner from smudging into dark circles below my eyes. It might actually have prevented eyeliner smudging, but it made the area under my eyes look really dry and flakey/cakey so I stopped using it. To be fair, I probably used too much or applied with the wrong brush and so I think to really test whether this works for my intended use I need to consult with an expert (I'm no makeup expert..).
This loose powder is so fine and just sets my makeup.....no need to touch up during the day. I have used this powder for years and know it is the best.
I've been an esthetician and make-up artist for 37 years and have used many different powder formulations. I always come back to the Chanel Poudre Universelle in either Naturelle or Clair. It is extremely fine and light. It is matte, but allows your skin to glow with luminosity. It never builds up or cakes. The beautiful powder container is exceptionally chic and contains a large amount of powder. Which means, it last a long time. Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre is my standard, go-to powder.
