For the reviewers saying these are not steady enough for "getting the paper", Scuffs are not to be worn outside the house. In fact, they should be confined to your bedroom unless you have wall-to-wall carpeting. Scuffs are meant to be next to barefoot. If you wouldn't go outside barefoot, you don't wear scuffs out there either. There are flip flops for outside. There should be a pair of outdoor slippers by your front door, or mud room for "grabbing the paper".
