I know this scent. My mother wore it every day, and I love the scent. But when I ordered a bottle of the perfume for myself, I was stunned to find that the scent is NOT the same anymore.
I don't know what they've changed, but somewhere along the way they changed something, because it simply doesn't smell right. Not mostly roses. Now it's mustier, not very pleasant.
It's really sad. I so loved the original perfume!

I'll be frank. Not too much detail is needed, I promise. I prefer researching my fragrances as opposed to walking through a cloud of various perfumes in a department store (coffee beans don't always reset the senses). Anyway, I purchased Joy online. Super excited to get it. Opened the box. Applied a light spritz on my wrist. IMMEDIATELY, my olfactory memory came to life.
... Funeral Home. That's what Joy smells like. Walking into a funeral home. Gaggish. This perfume has earned its spot at the back of the table.
More than thirty years ago, a gentleman who wished to date me gave me my first bottle of Joy include with it a purse size bottle and small gold funnel for pouring. It was the moment that I fell in love with Joy and Jean Patou! Now I search for it wherever I am....
