The smell is nice, very subtle. I must have received an older version because Nordstrom just changed the picture, and this is not what my bottle looks like, though it's advertised as the same product. The pump on the bottle I received throws out very concentrated bursts of product, so it's tricky to distribute evenly over a large surface. I did not however like the fact that it left both my hair (which is thick, curly and course) and my daughter's hair (which is thin, straight and fine) feeling very WAXY with a ton of buildup. I won't order it again.
I love the way Phytomist Color Protect Mist makes my hair look and feel. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars, is that it is somewhat wild in the spray application. Be careful it doesn't make your floor slippery!
I never brush my hair after getting out of the shower without spraying this in it first! I have highlighted blonde hair and it doesn't dull the blonde at all! I also have very thick hair which tangles early when wet and this has been a heaven send!
I've tried several leave in conditioners and this is the only one that doesn't weigh down my hair. I have very fine, color-treated, shoulder-length hair. The bottom half of my hair is excessively dry from coloring so this product is an excellent remedy for adding additional conditioner to the driest areas of my hair. I apply a few sprays to towel dried hair (after shampooing & conditioning) and distribute it with my fingers. It comes out with a fine spray and it is easy to control the amount you want to use.
It gives my hair a lot of body and volume with no weigh down or a greasy or oily look. It doesn't make your hair feel stiff or sticky, it gives it a soft silky texture. I consider this a volumizing and conditioning product. You can use this on dry or wet hair, you can let your hair air dry, blow dry it, or use hot rollers with it and you'll get great results each way. It is a very versatile product. It is very lightly scented, I don't even detect a scent in my hair from it.
I'm not surprised this product is so good, every product I've used from Phyto is fantastic. I love this line.
