I had good luck with this supplement a few years ago, with my stylist noticing my hair was growing out more rapidly. The strands also seemed stronger and less prone to breakage. I'm now having hair loss and strand weakness due to hormonal changes. I'm turning back to this supplement in hopes it works again. Since it took about 2-3 months before for results were apparent last time, it's too soon to report if it will help with the hormonal aspect of hair loss. But based on prior results, it's worth a 3-4 month try.
If you are tempted to order on Amazon or other discount retailer, I caution you. I tried this once and was sure it was a fake. I tossed it and came back to Nordstrom because I trust they will source direction from the manufacturer. I have also tried other hair supplements, such as one from Pure Encapsulations, but Phyto was the clear winner.
I have taken these on and off for about 4 years. It seems like once a year I chop my hair off on a spur of the moment decision, and then a month later regret it and wish I had my gorgeous waist length hair back (will I ever learn?). I love these pills! My hair grows abnormally fast naturally, but these kick it into overdrive. My mom can always tell when I have been taking these. I usually buy from Nordstrom, but these weren't in stock for the longest time....so I sat waiting with my lob haircut for these to finally come back. I am so happy these are back in stock and I ordered enough to last me the entire year (do note though, I take these pills different then suggested, I go every other day, 1 pill, 2 pills, 1 pill, 2 pills). I also notice growth in my eyelashes, but not in my nails like others have said.
It's too early to know if it's working, but I noticed the bottle began to look oily on the inside, as if the capsules had melted a bit. Contacted Phyto directly twice to address this, but no response. Really wish I knew, because I bought a year supply and want to be sure my supply hasn't expired prematurely. These are easy to take, scented like chocolate and I haven't experienced any digestive issues.
