Excellent Quality with Custom Sizing (& future recrafting, if desired)

Over several years' time, I've had four pairs of these wonderful Walden loafers. I will buy nothing else. The high quality is consistent. The fit is to my needs (very narrow feet), and I can send them back for recrafting; not having to rely on local, ,very bad, repair shops.
The leather lining allows these shoes to maintain their size better than unlined shoes, so do not purchase a tight size, expecting the shoes to stretch a lot as they break in.

The quality of materials is excellent. It took a while to break these in. I am retired and do not wear dress shoes often, but once broken in they are very comfortable.

Great 'all-purpose' shoe, maybe got a defect?

As a frequent flyer, I bought this shoe to serve as my short trip "utility player": to the airport, to the client's office, out to a casual dinner. The fit was great, and were quite comfortable after a wear or two. The problem was that after a months time, the sole started to split (rubber from leather, and even between leather layers). I've owned several other pairs of AE's, and never encountered this problem before. I'll assume this was an anomaly.
