Nice Shoes that Squeek

Have purchased six pair of AE shoes in the past twenty-five years and have enjoyed wearing them all. However the seventh pair, Waldens, developed a noticable squeek in the left shoe that will not go away. Have never had a problem with the other pairs.

Was on second pair of soles within 6 months

Great looking shoe, comfortable, but like another reviewer said the soles wore out really quickly. They have never been worn in the rain and I have never had problems with leather soles lasting. I have a pair of Mcallisters and they are fine so far--bought at the same time. So pretty disappointed, wondering if it was a bad batch or something?

Good shoes, but...

The Walden is a nice-looking, classic American shoe. Fit and comfort have been fine. However, the soles have not lasted very long at all. In less than a year I have had to replace them twice after developing holes. I did not expose them to severe conditions, either. The repair service from AE was prompt, but the second soles developed holes in only a few months after replacement. I know that these are not shell cordovan shoes, but they have proved less durable than much cheaper shoes in my wardrobe, such as Cole Haan. I haven't given up on AE shoes, but I hope that quality isn't on the wane.

Great shoe....compliments on it already

The Walden is exactly the beefroll penny loafer I was looking for. I'm still breaking it in a little bit but the leather is really nice and the sole is padded, making it a great shoe for all the long hours I'm putting in at work. This is a great Friday shoe, perfect for going from work to the bar.
Plus it's American made, what more is there to ask for?
