Poor quality leather

Corrected grain leather is low quality and means that creasing is evident. Absolutely no stretch to the leather which makes it very hard to fit this loafer. It fits fine in the morning, but by the end of the day they are unbearably comfortable. Would not recommend.

My go to shoe for almost 20 years

I have these in every color they have made and two in burgundy. These are the easiest to care for. They re-craft well and last at least 3 years between re-crafting. I live in snow country and beat the &$(U$ out of these by not wearing rubbers etc so the salt and water are not kind but these clean up with a wet rag easily. I am lazy and usually running late for everything and the fact I can jump into these and count on them looking stylish no matter what the occasion make them my primary go to shoe.

Just what I wanted...

The Walden is a great classic casual shoe, and I find it useful across a range of activities. I like the fact that it's both stylistically unobtrusive, yet obviously a quality product. My only quibble is that the shoe seems to be taking longer than I had expected, to relax into that 'well-worn' profile I enjoy. But then, since it's so well-constructed, and of such first-rate materials, maybe I'd better be just a bit more patient.

Completely disappointed.

I own a black pair of Walden's in 10.5 D (my normal size). They are slightly shorter and more narrow than expected. I cannot return them because after saving for 2 years I was too excited and wore them to a Christmas party. I hope they stretch!
I recently ordered the burgundy in 11 D and I am disappointed again. They are way too long and the color is actually brown.
Buying AE shoes is a huge leap for me but I wanted the best. Unfortunately, I will be returning this pair for a 10.5 E with the hope of getting a shoe that fits in burgundy.
