I have been wearing the Coquette slippers for years, and have lost track of how many I have bought. That last point has been making me realize that these slippers wear out, on the inside, much too fast. The reasons I have been buying them include the soft shearling inside, and the sturdy soles. I have a lot of tile floors and need slippers and shoes with sturdy soles on the hard floors. These soles seem to never wear out, but the shearling is another matter. The last few I have bought began losing shearling on all the pressure points, especially the heels, within a month or two. When this happened on the last pair, I returned them to Nordstrom and got a new pair, which also wore out inside very quickly, but I kept wearing them. I also wrote to Ugg customer service about this, and the only suggestion was to buy some Ugg shearling innersoles, something I think would be a mistake, since they would slide out as I walk. So I have been again wearing the worn out slippers, which also stretched out so that my feet have to work as I walk, to keep the slippers on my feet. Apparently Ugg has no intention of improving on this problem. I always like the slippers for the first two months or so, then end up putting up with the problems. This year I have been looking for slippers that have the warmth and sturdiness of the Coquettes, but without the problem of shearling wearing out, and hopefully, without the high cost. I will this manufacturer would do something about this issue, which I see has been the complaint of several other reviewers also.
These were a gift for my daughter, replacing a similar pair I bought from J Crew several years ago. She LOVED these. Why? Great sole so can be worn inside and out (to water the plants, etc.). They fit snugly - in a good way - so they don't flop like slippers when she walks. Of course, they are very comfortable too. She can wear shoes ranging from 7-8. I got her a 7, and it's perfect.
I wear slippers everyday all year long. I am willing to spend good money on my slippers because I do wear them all the time when I am home. These have been the worst pair of UGGs I’ve ever purchased. The shearling wore all the way through. I’ve had Kirkland brand knock offs that have lasted longer. $128 with tax out the door. Shame on you UGG for making slippers of such poor quality!
LOVE the feel and fit of Uggs. I always wear them barefoot because they feel so good BUT the black ones turn soles of my feet totally black. Ordered them in other, lighter color and will have to return black ones. Wanted to warn other buyers of this problem.
