I was the mother of the bride and I had searched and searched for the "perfect" dress. One week before the wedding I ordered this dress. It fit perfect. I took it to Nordstrom's store here in town and they hemmed it within 2 days. It was gorgeous. I had so many compliments on this dress. It was stylish, yet modest. My son is getting married in December and I'm hoping they will have some more colors in this style. This dress was eleqant for the wedding and fun to dance in at the reception. Perfect in every way!!!

I am 5 feet four inches, 160 pounds, 37 years old. I purchased this dress to wear to a formal event. I wanted a dress that would be conservative, help cover up my arms, and help hide the weight which I have recently gained over the last year. This dress is it!
It is really slimming, and it hides my arms. It is really simple, but with my hair done I am sure it will look great. The best part is that I do not need to get it hemmed since I ordered size 12P and there is no need to get it hemmed. The material looks and feels great. I was hesitant to trust the site to give me a true fit size, but the recommended size was perfect. I will not hesitate to order online again. I can’t wait to wear it in a few weeks.

This is one of the most flattering dresses I have ever owned. LOVE it! I initially bought the dress to wear when I perform chamber music and choral concerts -- musicians most often wear a formal black -- but I also wore it to an evening wedding in early spring. I have pear-shaped figure (slim on top, heavier in hips and thighs) and this dress emphasized neck and shoulders (and reveals a bit of sexy bare back) while minimizing my lower half. At my age, I need a formal dress that covers my arms, not so easy to find these days. Normally I wear a size 6, but that size wasn't available, so I ordered a 4 and it fit beautifully. The construction is sturdy but flexible enough to feel quite comfortable, the long satin skirt falls beautifully from the waist. The only criticism was that the dress was about 4 to 5 inches too long (I am 5'5") so it had to be altered. I expect to wear this dress for many years to come; it is a true classic.

I tried many dresses for my son's wedding this August; many of them more expensive than this one. I wanted satin in particular, because I think it is more rich - looking than chiffon. This dress is the most flattering one ever! Others said it looks like nothing on the hanger, and they are right. But put it on. . . . It is gorgeous. The illusion bodice is sexy without being too revealing, and I like the v-neckline in the back. Although I'll wear a strapless bra (or one with clear straps), this dress is lingerie friendly. The navy is deep without looking black. The 3/4 sheer sleeves hide a multitude of sins. I am 5'1", weigh (too much!) at 140 but am losing; 10P fits well. I may exchange for an 8P if my weight continues in the right direction. : ). I have to have everything shortened, but no other alterations necessary. I highly recommend this dress!
