As always, AE delivered top quality even if these boots were "Factory Seconds". My grandson was very happy to receive these and to start "breaking them in".

Solid performer that has been easier to break in than other recent AE shoes

Unlike other recent AE shoe purchases, This shoe has good bottom cushioning. Having said that, I feel that the over look of this shoe is more informal than the picture shows. There is heavy cleat material on the bottom sole, thicker than I expected. The biggest issue for me is the overall heft of the shoe, which is quite weighty. While this may have been expected in a shoe intended for winter wear, for someone like me with poor blood circulation, if you put this shoe on and then walk outside straight away, your feet cannot warm up this considerable thermal mass, and your feet stay cold for an extended time. I suggest placing this shoe well above the floor for storage, and on top of a heater might be even better.

I am very pleased with these shoes. So pleased that I purchased a second pair! They are comfortable and fit perfectly in size and width. They are exactly what I was looking for as I wear them 16 hours a day! That's not an exaggeration. I hope that these continue to be available for years to come.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Where do I start, I own two pairs of Hillcrest dress shoes, our of production. Still have them since 1998 Three other pairs of dress shoes two pair of boots Now the Wilbert comfort shoes I recently purchase brown and black or my favorite shoes for every day wear. Emphasize comfort , classic real man shoes. P.S Great shoes
