Thank you for writing a review. We regret the issues you’ve experienced with the Urbino. We use the Italian Bologna construction to handcraft the Italian styles, which is a very different type of construction that our traditional welted styles made in our Wisconsin factory. Italian styles are known for being extremely soft and flexible thanks to the construction and the thin, lightweight sole. We find that depending on how the shoe fits each person when they try them on, if the upper leather puckers or overhang past the sole on the toe area, then it becomes susceptible to scuffs if the toe touches the ground as you walk. In those cases, we recommend that those customers choose styles with a thicker sole or, as you have selected to do, add a tap for protection.
