Lancome mascara prime seemed dry and short of prod

I have been using my current tube of this item for at least 2 monts. I purchased this item because I it was on sale and I anticipated running out of my current tube shortly. I received the new one and in checking the product, there was less in the new tube then I still have in the tube I have been using. Moreover, I tried applying it on my lashes and it was dryer than it should be for a brand new tube. I am returning it.
