After Chanel changed the lip liner I had been using for years, it took me several years to find a replacement. I have tried so many only to put them aside and try another. I finally found the perfect color and the perfect lip liner with the La Prairie Luxe Lip Liner Automatique. Some say it is pricey, but I would pay even more to have this lip liner. I am SO happy with it. I hope they never change it or discontinue it.
I REALLY, REALLY wanted to love this lip liner. It is beautifully packaged/presented and goes on smoothly. However, after trying EVER color that’s offered, none of them look great on me. I’d love to see a berry color. The one that came closest to looking good on me is the Beaujolais. The nude is okay, too, but hints towards orange tones. (Not good for my coloring) For the cost, it’s not worth it for me. If you have medium or darker skin, I think there’s lots of good color options here. I have very light skin, blond hair, blue eyes. I love La Prairie, so really thought I’d love this, but I finally had to admit to myself that this item is not for me. :(
I was searching for a long lasting lip liner that wouldn't wear off quickly or smear but also didn't feather. Based on the other reviews, I ordered this one. It was smooth, didn't smear or feather and was retractable which I really liked but just didn't stay on that well. Disappointed, especially as it is a bit pricier.
Its nice and does stay on longer that any other liner I've used. It isn't too matte and it even stays on with gloss over it. I got the color cafe and its a nice neutral for my fairer complexion. I still think its overpriced, this is a lot to pay for only half of what's needed for your lips!
