I needed something to provide moisture under the liquid matte lipsticks I wear and thought this was it. I tried it several times and it will not allow the lipstick to set (dry) down. I'm sure it's a great product for regular lipstick, but it's just not fitting my needs. Will be returning.

I was finding that my lips were getting quite dry from applying matte lipstick directly to my lip. I found the prep + prime after doing some research and reading reviews and decided to give it a go. I'm very happy I did! My lips feels very soft and hydrated for a really long time! I saw some reviews of people saying that the product didn't do anything for them or that they didn't feel like it was hydrating, but I guess no product will work for 100% of people. We are all different. Anyway, it works perfectly for me and I'll definitely be buying it again!

An expensive lip balm

I bought this as recommended by a Mac makeup artist. It is basically an expensive lip balm. I wish I hadn't wasted my money. The texture is nice and it has a nice smell, glides on easily. However, it does not prevent my lipstick flaking and drying out which is the whole reason I bought it. I am simply going to purchase a cheaper lip balm alternative. Also after only using this twice the stick itself came off and there is only a tiny amount in the tube. Overall disappointed. I buy most of my make up from mac but generally disappointed in this product.

I just used it for the first time today with some of MAC's matte lipstick. I put it on early this morning, been drinking out of a fat straw all day, just ate a salad for lunch, and then went to reapply. To my surprise, no need. My lip color has lasted beautifully for 6 hours and counting.
