The MAC specialist at Bloomingdales helped me as I was initially seeking a lip balm to better moisturize my dry lips. This Prep + Prime is such a great primer for the lips before applying your gloss/lipstick/pencil. It works best as a primer to wait at least 2 minutes to absorb before applying your lip color to ensure a long-lasting application. What I learned about drugstore bought chapsticks, which are waxed-based, and doesn't add any hydration benefits to your lips. This Prep + Prime is not waxed-based as I was told, and instead it consists of cocoa shea-butter,and oils to prevent a sticky, waxy application. I use this daily and wear it as alone. I do wish there was more product in the tube as I noticed that I tend to go through it pretty quickly (within 2 months). Otherwise, it's definitely worth the money and I highly recommend it if you have dry lips!

This product is a staple. Honestly, I don't know how I used to wear lipstick without it. My lipstick lasts for HOURS. It allows for easy application (which everyone wants). It's super moisturizing as well! Another thing that I love about this primer, is that it keeps the lipstick in place, and it doesn't smudge.

For people with lips that dry easily during the winter but you refuse to stop wearing lipstick - this product will work wonders for you. My lips kept drying up the lipstick color and eventually peeling off so I bought this after reading the reviews and I completely agree with everyone else who loves this product. It soothes your lips and makes for a GREAT base for lipstick. After 7 hours and a nap my lipstick still hasn't dried up or come off. This is a must have beauty essential.
