My lips bleed terrible. This helps keep my favorite Russian Red put. I haven't bought a pro liner in red yet, but it's on my list. Even then I will always use this primer before any lipstick to keep it from bleeding. One of my forever items of Mac.

This product is a must have for red lipstick lovers! It helps extend the lipstick's lasting power on the lips, locks in moisture underneath the lipstick - even ultra matte lipsticks like Ruby Woo - and prevents the lipstick from bleeding into the lines around your mouth. I highly recommend applying prep and prime lip a little outside the lip are as well to really keep the lips hydrated throughout the day. With Prep and Prime Lip, I only need one application of the lipstick in the morning and it lasts me all day! This is one of the longest standing and vital products in my arsenal!
