I never wear Mac lipstick without prep and prime lip since I have tried this item. It leaves a light and comfortable feeling on your lips and lipstick goes on so smoothly (even matte and retro matte lippies). It extends the wear of lipsticks and stops any dry patches or flakes. Ive just ordered two more.

I have a few of these MAC Lip Primers. One in my bag, one in my home makeup stash, and one on backup. It really helps the longevity of my lip colour, especially when I wear my deep red shades. Gives enough comfortable moisture under lip colours to give the lips a good base, without being so slick your lip colour will fly off in minutes. The only suggestion I have is to improve the packaging. I find turning up the product, it doesn't always swivel out nicely. It's an expensive product that could benefit from a packaging upgrade but it's not a deal-breaker by any means, I just have to be careful with replenishing it.

I also found this to be no big deal and didn’t significantly either prime lips or maintain lip liner or lipstick. I’ve been using Too Faced Shadow Insurance for years and that DOES make a noticeable and reliable difference. (Putting eyeshadow primer on my lips hasn’t made me sick, poisoned, or killed me in any way. It’s fine.)

I use this every day as a part of my morning make-up routine. It's the last thing I apply before I set my makeup. I don't use it under lipstick, necessarily; I'm not a big lip color person. I like it as an alternative to lip balms, which can feel too thick. I can't stand my lips to feel dry, and I keep one in every purse and in my make-up bag.
