I love these moccasins-- I've been buying them for over 10 years. The last pair I bought was a couple years ago and since then the sizing has definitely changed. I've always bought a size 6, but this time the size 6 was much larger (longer and wider) than usual-- my feet were slipping out of them. After reading other reviews, I exchanged them for a size 5. The 5 is just a tiny bit snug, but they're starting to stretch and mold to my feet, so I think they'll work out just fine.
First of all, it was strange that the manufacturer would not follow the standard sizing. I did follow a suggestion on the website and bought size 9 instead of my usual size 10. The length was almost OK but felt slightly tight. It felt as though a size larger would be too big. They were too wide. They felt uncomfortable at the top front due to the thick suede threads sown underneath. There were also some black threads hanging at the ends of the stitching. Bottom Line: Cute design, sloppy execution, and uncomfortable fit. Back they go.
I had these shoes years ago when I was in grade school. I purchased them again, thinking they'd be great for driving when I need to change into nicer shoes at my destination. However, they did not fit as well anymore. These moccasins still felt like the same great quality, but unfortunately I was in between sizes and had to send them both back.
