I bought a pair of these 4 years ago and loved them from the first wear. Each summer I buy a new pair and use my old pair for outside and around the yard. There is no break-in period..just wear and enjoy. Very squishy and comfortable, I actually wore them during a week at Disney with the family. As far as durability, I can tell you that growing up in a beach town and always having Rainbows, the sole on these will wear down before you would ever have any breakage just like the Rainbows(which I have yet to have any damage other than the soles disappearing from mileage!). To add, when my Rainbows would wear on the footbed, they would irritate my skin, especially when wet..not so with the Havianas. Like I titled this review, they are a perfect staple flop.
