Prosmoisturizing, not natural
I was a long time user of Laura Mercier's oil free tinted moisturizer until my highly reactive skin started to break out from it, and have been on a search for something else to replace it ever since. Well sadly this isn't it. As I can't stand a made up look, I found that even applying a tiny dot with a foundation brush still looked too masky on me. I went with some recommendations to try Beige Ivory as a close match with Nude in LM's tinted moisturizer, but I found the foundation left a slightly orange-y yellow cast, although I saw no line of demarcation by my neck. It is possible I had the wrong color, though I think it was still too heavy for my liking.
On the plus side, it did not break me out after testing it out for 3 days in a row and it was very moisturizing for my extra dry 50 year old skin.
But I really prefer products that have little or nothing in the way of parabens and other chemicals, and LM's formulas are sadly full of them. Also, in spite of the heaviness, I still found some breakouts I was trying to cover came right through even when I dabbed an extra couple of dots of the foundation right over them, so I definitely felt it was not worth the investment in light of that, along w/ the orange-y, overdone look I thought it left.
If you prefer something more than sheer coverage you may like this. A tiny bit will go a long way.
Generally, I don't like heavy liquid foundations that look or feel unnatural. But this silk creme foundation really does what it says it will: it helps cover the sun spots on my face, it evens out my skin tone and makes my skin look younger and less tired (without feeling like I have a heavy layer of make-up on), it adds a warm glow that brightens my skin without looking unnatural. I keep a small container with me in my purse for a quick touch-up throughout the day; I put on a few dabs on the different parts of my face and gently rub it in. Voila! Because I look better, I feel better!
Finally, I have found the perfect foundation! As an Esthetician, i am very picky about what products and ingredients i put on my skin. I also want my skin to look flawless at all times AND last all day while I'm at work. This Laura Mercier foundation is healthy, non-comodegenic and does the trick of giving me coverage while looking natural. It is long lasting and gives me a subtle, natural glow. I pair this with the oil free primer and I am set. Laura mercier products are the absolute best - try it for yourself and you will be hooked!
