Ever since beginning my love affair with Chanel cosmetics, I have stayed steadfastly loyal to the Rouge Coco lipcolour. Only recently did I begin to wonder about the Rouge Allure line, as I was mostly inspired by the immediate shining I took to the Rouge Allure gloss. I studied various swatches and went to the Chanel counter with specific colours in mind: Insouciante, Mythic, Confidentielle, amongst others. I wanted something neutral and wearable, but wasn't sure if Mythic would wash me out, given that I am on the fair side. My Chanel SA suggested that I try Mythic on, and to my surprise the colour added a subtle sheen to my natural colour. I liked it right away, seeing as it drastically varied from anything else in my lipstick collection.
The texture of Rouge Allure is smooth and creamy. I find that if my lips are not supremely conditioned, Rouge Coco can emphasize cracks and dryness (depending on the shade of the lipstick, of course). With Rouge Allure, even a light nearly non-existent colour like Mythic goes on seamlessly. I wear it alone or with a lipliner for longevity. What I love about Chanel products is the attractive subtle scents they add to their cosmetics -- there's nothing audacious about the fragrance. I can't wait to grab more Rouge Allure lipsticks!
This is part of the lovely Spring 2011 collection and is a gorgeous, creamy coral pink. It is not too bright but a beautiful warm color that gives opaque coverage. This also looks great with the new Nakkar and Aragonite glossimers.
