It's a good light hat, but I knocked off two stars for the following reasons:
1st star off because, as fellow reviewers had mentioned, the black colored hats are smaller than the natural colored hats. If you're going to make different sized hats, come up with different sizes; don't do one size. They're NOT all the same one size.
2nd star off because the hats are not really packable. If you pack them into your bag, the shape will deform, and you will not get the original shape back.

Amazing Hat!

Proschic, practical
I've had this hat in the bark color for 2 seasons, and I love it...with a black summer dress, it just looks amazing. I have a variety of think scarves to tie around it to change the look. Contrary to many of the reviews here, my head is smaller, but the hat still fits well. I'm saving up my pennies to purchase the black one before the summer is over. This hat is truly a long term investment if you are concerned about the price...it is worth it. Wish I could afford one in every color.

Prosterric sunhat
I ordered three sunhats and kept this one. Eric Javitts hats are well made and comfortable as well as stylish. I generally don't like wearing most hats as they are not comfortable for me but this one is....a BIG difference between an inexpensive straw type sunhat and the quality of this Wide Brim Hat. Plus the color works well with everything. I will use it all summer for trips to the outdoor markets, beach and a vacation to France in July!

expensive but worth it

Prosexpensive, good looking, fashionable, pretty, upf protection
I am allergic to the sun so I need every protection I can get. I recently came across this hat and I love it! (if you are like me, you know how hard it is to find a nice looking hat with UPF 50+ or 100+ from specialized sun protection clothing stores). I did not realize designers were know making those hats, I simply love it!! I wish there were more hats from Eric Javits available at Nordstrom, such as the wider brims with the UPF 50+. I am planning on purchasing all the colors available, black, bark, and natural (I already have the cream and it is so beautiful!!). Regarding the fit... I have a smaller had, so I need to stitch up inside (like a few V stitchings) in order to make the circumference smaller and get a better and snug fit.
