Roxanne, at the Michigan Ave store sold me my first Eric Javits hat a few years ago. I was willing to give it a try, though it was a bit beyond what I would normally spend on "just a hat"! This is NOT just a hat! All of Eric Javits' hats are SPF and actually DO keep the sun off your head, face and neck (depending on the width of the brim). I wear this hat all over the world and get compliments on it constantly by all ages, both men and women. I love how this hat works. I am outside quite a bit in bigger cities and needed a hat like this for years - I didn't know they existed. Per suggestion of Roxanne, I added a small piece of fabric as a casual tie around the hat since I was wearing it at first in windy downtown Chicago. It only adds to the beauty! You can change the fabric or omit depending on the look you're after. Oh - just try these hats! They will keep you cooler and help prevent sunburns and who doesn't TOTALLY trust Nordstrom customer service? Nordstrom is the world leader in customer service. I have shopped around the world and it always makes me miss Nordstrom!
Purchased for Spring and summer festivals plus those days around the pool or at the beach. Fits well on my average size head. I got the brownish neutral color which is very flexible as it coordinates with everything. I bought a couple of scarfs for perking it up also. I see myself wearing this for many years due to its durability. It's a good thing because this baby wasn't cheap!

Proschic and smart
This hat is attractive, comfortable and easy to pack. I can change the look by adding a silk flower clip, beaded strap or ribbon. It has the added benefit of not flattening my hair and added protection from UV. Though I ordered the "bark" color, all the colors look amazing.

I bought a wide-brimmed hat two years ago and love wearing it, but I'm ready for an upgrade. I originally bought the black, but tried on the bark and it worked best for me, plus it goes with everything. It can be dressed up or down and the classic look won't go out of style. It runs a tad large, so if you have a hard time finding hats that fit you should try this one!
