Love, love, love the hat! It's the perfect size. The brim isn't too big or floppy that you can't see but sits perfectly to the shape you want. It's comfortable and I love it! Yes, it's expensive but think of it this way....you wear it a few times for a few years and it's now a great investment and worth the price. The design is classic and will never go out of fashion!

Let me start by saying this is the first sun hat I have ever owned that will stay on in a moderate breeze without a chin strap. The deep crown and stretchy band really work. It is a very attractive, well made hat.
I have never paid this much for a sun hat before, but I have also never liked a sun hat as much as this one. I would buy it again.
4 stats instead of 5 because I wish the brim was 1/2 - 3/4" wider. The shape of my face is such that my chin and the lower part of the sides of my face aren't completely shaded by this hat.
I could relate to so many of the reviews for this hat, ie: I can never find a hat that is big enough to fit my head comfortably; I have NEVER found a hat that I look good in.
In addition, I am "of a certain age" where my youthful indiscretions in the sun have caught up with me, so now I stay out of the sun OR wear tons of sunscreen, and I have been looking for a nice sun hat forever.
Enter this Eric Javits beauty! I ordered one in Natural & one in Black, *hoping* that I'd like one of them enough to cough up the dough for it.
The hats arrived today & all I can say is, "Believe the reviews!" Perfection in every way. Fits my head comfortably, but is still secure enough so it's not spinning around or anything like that. The "lines" of the hat are exquisite; you are instantly cosmopolitan-chic. And the brim is ample for fabulous protection of the face AND the back of your neck - critical!
I am shocked (shocked!) to say that I'm keeping both of them. This is, without a doubt, the best $400 I've ever spent because they make me look wonderful, & I'm protecting my face from further damage. I plan to take very good care of them, and hope they'll last many years. For what it's worth, I've never paid more than $50 for a hat before, so, yes, I do consider these to be expensive, but completely worth the investment :D
