While I was sad that my old Birkenstocks broke, I was also excited to be able to purchase this new pair in the rose gold which I had been eyeing since last year. They are fun, comfy (typical snug at first) but they are easily broken in and stylish!
I love these shoes and find them very comfortable. However, I have had them less than a month and have made the unfortunate discovery that the leather finish is completely destroyed by bug spray. I was wearing the sandals and applied bug spray while out at a party. It wouldn't even occur to me that I would need to remove my shoes to apply bug spray (which you typically do outside and typically would be wearing shoes). The shoes got a small amount of spray on them (I did not directly spray on the shoes) and the metallic finish basically bleached out and left either much lighter spots and some spots where the finish completely came off. Trying to decide if I will return them and completely bummed to have the shoes ruined.
I love the style and copper color. The fit was perfect. I put them on and wore around the house for a few hours. At first, I thought they would be fine but after about 2 hours, they started rubbing. The edges of the top leather are hard, due to the copper coating. I have a pair of silver Birks and they are OK. I will have to return these because one toe was blistered after 3 hours. Sad.
