Great quality

Allen Edmunds makes great shoes in America and these are consistent with the quality, fit and look of the other five pairs of shoes I have from them.

Custom quality at factory prices

Look carefully at the Allen Edmonds Park Avenue between the heal and ball of the insole and then compare them to the other brands you may wear. You will notice that the insole on the Park Avenue has a fairly significant curvature in the instep/ arch area. Most other brands are fairly straight in this same portion of the shoe. Why does it matter? The inward curvature of the insole causes the upper to form a suspension bridge under you arch which translates to all day comfort. On lower quality shoes it’s easier and cheaper just to make the arch/ instep section of the shoes more or less straight. The AE classic lasts like the 65, 97 and the 108 are ergonomic and promote healthy foot function when sized properly.
I want to publicly thank the Allen Edmonds team for making an outstanding product.

I think they run narrow

I've worn AE shows for decades and always thought they felt good out of the box and lasted for a long time. Awhile back I bought the Park Avenue cap toe and the left shoe was very tight. I had it stretched at the store, but it was still too tight and seemed to actually get tighter. I've worn AE shoes in size 12 B for years but I was disappointed in this shoe. I went back and bought another pair and I'm trying the 12C. I have not worn them yet. I hope they work.

Great When You Find A Properly Made Pair
PostedOctober 13, 2018
Craftsmanship of Allen Edmonds shoes seems to have diminished over the recent years. Why do I say this? Because without fail in the past four years purchasing three pairs of A&E shoes the construction or fit of one shoe in each pair has been substandard. Recently on a pair of Park Avenue shoes, the laces on one shoe nearly closed the vamp while the laced vamp on the other shoe formed a distinct "V". The shoes look like they were built by two different people.
So, I now order two pairs of each model, and I keep the best shoes from each pair.
Once I find a left and right shoe that look like they belong together, and fit properly (it's usually construction quality that suffers versus fit), then I have an excellent pair of shoes that often draw compliments.
