Dainite Sole Installed Incorrectly
PostedOctober 20, 2021
While I love and enjoy my AE Park Avenue dress shoes with leather soles, they're dangerously slippery to wear in wet weather, and water and ice are bad for leather soles. The British solved the problem of wet/icy weather with the Dainite rubber sole, but unlike AE they install them at the same thickness as leather. The AE Park Avenue shoes with Dainite I returned, had soles and heels almost twice as thick as leather, and looked simply dreadful. I have other AE shoe models with Dainite and their soles and heals are proportioned the same as leather and look great.

Narrower than expected, which causes discomfort by the end of the day
PostedOctober 15, 2021
I wasn't able to get sized at a store (there wasn't one local to me), so I tried to use info and materials on the website to order the appropriate size. I know the length, but I have wide feet, so It's always a guess on what size of width to buy. I ended up ordering an 11 EEE. Based on the information from the website, it said I should be almost exactly between an EE and EEE, so I ordered the EEE just to be safe.
They arrived and were really tight across my foot. I assumed I'd need to wear them for a week to break them in and stretch them out to get them comfortable enough to wear. It's been nearly a month, and I include the shoes in my regular rotation, which means I wear them a couple of times a week. They're still uncomfortable to wear due to their width. I've probably worn them for a full day 8-10 times now, and my feet are in pain at the end of the day. I found that if I untie them and loosen the laces when I'm sitting at my desk, it gives me a little more room in them and makes them more bearable to wear.
Bottom line, order wider than you think you need if you have wider feet because they seem to run narrow on the width.
