I have owned three pairs (two black and one brown) of Park Ave's. I have no major issues concerning the quality, construction or price. They are my "go-to" for casual and dress with great comfort.
A learning curve. 1. Always clean, condition and polish (I condition once a week) to prevent tears in your upper leather 2. Always use a shoe stay (ceder) and a shoe horn to keep the heal looking fresh 3. Bracking in (becoming one with your foot) with large, fluffy cotton socks will make these almost like house shoes 4. Heal cracking, DONT FLIP OUT. Although a slight separation on the inside or outside of the heal may seem BAD, it is not. We all walk different and as such the heal may slightly pull apart a little. The heal is still intact and once everything settles in, so will the crack. Everything is completely normal (at least for me over the past 12 years).

Causes extreme pain in heel

After being fitted at two stores to confirm the sizing result, I took the plunge on these a little over 2 years ago. I returned to the store saying they felt tight but they assured me this was the right size and I needed to wear them in a bit. Unfortunately, this never happened. I've tried over and over to wear these, but I'm always in extreme pain by the end of the day, which is so severe it lasts through the next day (wearing other shoes.) They look nice but are ultimately a complete waste.

I got this in oxblood and I could not be happier. This is my 6th pair of AE and finally I found the best fit. Shoes supple and need very little break in out of the box. Dressy if need be but not formal. Red hue is not noticeable at all and looks more like a dark oak. Polished it with saphir mahogany #9 to bring out a little bit more of the red hue. The result is excellent. With regards to craftsmanship, few minor imperfections which I can live with. i guess it is attributed to being handcrafted in contrast to machine made.

About a year ago I switched over to Allen Edmonds shoes. Best and most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I have bought six styles and colors and will buy nothing else!
