I have been wearing Spanx for 10 years and I have never had this happen. Both toes ripped after wearing them only a few times.

Great tights but...

I was hoping for more control/compression in the waist. I have some of the standard spanx & wanted these tights to fit like them. But the color was great- dark black- and I had no issues with sagging or runs.
