My Favorite Pair of Shoes Ever

My wife gave me a pair of these in oxblood for Xmas. These are my favorite shoes ever! I own a couple of other AE shoes and two pairs of other high end shoes, and I like them, but these are head and shoulders above.
The color is perfect and unusual. You don't see many people wearing burgundy shoes now a days. The detailing is great.. The comfort is good for a dress shoe after you break them in.
They shine up so beautifully. And I've worn them with everything from jeans to a suit.
I want more! But they are on the pricey side, so I'll need to wait.

A True Classic

This purchase marks my 3rd pair of MacNeils. I hope to get 15 years of wear, like I did my original pair. The butyl leather sole is very comfortable right out of the box, no break in required, and should be a little more durable in my wet climate, as I dont always remember overshoes. Praises to Allen Edmonds for retiring the MacNeil 2.0 design. While that base shoe was fine, it lacked the beaded top line that gives the MacNeil a finished look. This new pair of MacNeils reflects the fine quality and craftsmanship of the excellent Allen Edmonds employees. I would recommend a pair of MacNeils for every professional.

I ordered a pair of the Macneil online during a sale. Although I returned the first pair because of a slight defect, I was willing to wait several weeks for a new pair which was backordered. This is a very attractive shoe and it works both for work and weekends. Being somewhat OCD, I noticed a slight misallignment in one of the eyelets in the row where lacing begins. It's not something anyone else would notice, and it affects neither fit nor function but I see it every time I lace them up. The funny thing is it actually makes me like the shoes even more! It reminds me that they were made by hand and also that things don't have to be technically perfect, yet they can still be beautiful, and these new Macneils are certainly that.
