Can't deny Mephisto quality, however; I sent them back as the Dark Brown color was really dark for my liking. I have seen "Brown Vintage" color at the Mephisto store, so I thought perhaps Nordstrom Dark Brown was the same. Apparently they do not have the Brown Vintage.
The shoes are very well-made, which is to be expected from Mephisto. Our only quibble and the reason this shoe did not receive a higher rating is that it seemed too narrow. The sides of the shoe slope inward, which exacerbates the issue. Mephisto made shoes in a wider size at one time and now does not so to a certain extent this issue is not specific to this particular shoe. I would not recommend this shoe for someone with a wide foot.
Best walking shoe you can buy. I originally bought this shoe for its great arch support. I had plantar fasciitis and was considering surgery. After three days in these shoes, the problem went away. Now, I don't wear anything but Mephisto shoes. The plantar fasciitis has never reoccurred. An added bonus: you can send the shoes to Mephsito to be resoled for $90 and they'll come back looking and feeling brand new.
