I have cystic acne around my chin/lower jaw area. Although the buffering lotion doesn't magically work overnight, it definitely makes a noticeable improvement and speeds up the healing process overall. Typically cystic spots can last weeks for me, but with the buffering lotion, they usually only last for a few days (a week at most).
This product is a must have in my pimple-fighting artillery! The consistency is milk white as it goes on, but just continually pat it in until it absorbs. It does absorb fairly fast and doesn't make your face feel greasy, give it a few minutes and it will dry and disappear. I wear this under my makeup as a protection against pore-clogging from foundation. Although I was concerned at first that it contained isopropyl alcohol which I thought would be harsh, it actually isn't drying (I have oily combo skin). If you are concerned about dry skin, just layer a moisturizer under this product and you will be fine, I always layer a moisturizer under or over after application anyway. This product is really great for small zits and even those deep pesky ones along your jawline and chin. I also really believe this helps with scarring. I've noticed my previous post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation and dark spots are being reduced as I use this product. Also don't be fooled by the tiny size, it will last you months as a little thin layer on your face goes a long way. This is also one of the few MB products that is actually paraben free, so I will continue to use this as long as they keep parabens out!
Once you get past the bad smell, it's a good product. You can really see your pimples dried out by the next day and it doesn't make your face white. You can go out and no one will notice you have something on. I use a cotton ball to distribute the product. So far, so good.
Best product I've ever used for painful, lurking under the skin acne. Doesn't over-dry my skin, and doesn't cause bleaching like benzoyl peroxide products. A little tricky to apply, but the small bottle lasts a long time.
