I got Santal, which is really not represented well from this swatch. In person, it's almost a greyish metallic mink color with a lavender undertone. Hard to imagine, but in person, it's an amazing color and a great change from black or just boring chocolate brown without losing the impact of a more opaque liner.
The liner is a great shape, it has a small profile which means you can just twist it up and it's "sharp" every time. But what's ingenious about this pencil is that it comes with a little, teeny sharpener in the opposite end of the pencil. You can actually sharpen what is twisted up, so that means you can get a really, super precise point. It does take a bit of practice to get used to sharpening just the lead, rather than the traditional way of sharpening but it's a great option for very fine lining.
The lasting power of this pencil is exceptional and it doesn't need more than a regular eye makeup remover to sweep away every trace of it. It's humidity proof, sweat proof and tear proof (I wore this to a recent eye exam and even the tear producing drops they gave me didn't budge it.)
The reason I'm not giving it a full five stars is that the formula is a bit dry. It could be creamier and easier to blend. I feel like I often have to "start it" by warming it against my hand and doing a few test strokes to get the pencil to the consistency it's supposed to be. For a pencil this expensive, that's not really cool. That said, it's a good choice if you really need a waterproof liner and if you love unusual, but still flattering, colors.
