Like the name of this product, this serum indeed smooths your hair like silk. It is a 'finishing' product and would work best if you pair it with another product for moisturizing i.e., leave-in serum or treatment. I used it after I use the Kiehl's repair and rehydrate serum. This product has a subtle minty scent imo which is pleasant.
I recently had a very bad bleach job and my hair was so bad, most of it needed to be cut off. The ends are still bad in some spots even though my hair is now in a pixie cut so they can't be cut any more. I can't even use a hair dryer or I have a head full of frizz. This product is the only thing I've found that actually smooths my frizzies and makes my hair at least look like it's healthy even though it isn't. I've tried everything that claims to "smooth" but nothing else has even come close to doing what this does without making my hair feel like it has a ton of oil or lotion in it. This is light and not greasy. I love it.

Proseasy to use, lightweight, non-sticky, unisex scent
This is a unisex hair serum that is almost scentless. What little smell there is, is very slight and pure. No flowerbomb or fruity smell, thankfully. Why I have been using the hair serum for over seventeen years is that it works, and works well. It is never greasy and goes on like dry oil. The serum is consistently good (no bad batches). I have thick, course hair and the serum makes my tresses soft as a lambs ear. You can use a dab (a few drops) or more, as I do, and your hair does not get sloppy looking. I feel polished and pretty when using Kiehl's hair serum.

I use this on its own, or to cut the heaviness that the Creme with Silk Groome can leave. I do that, as someone said it's like using the Creative Creme wax. Leaves my colored hair soft, shiny, healthy looking.
