I get more compliments on this fragrance than any I’ve ever worn, and I’ve worn all the highest rated no matter the price. (The Creeds and so forth) my purchase today will be the 23 bottle I’ve bought. LOVE IT!

It’s Really Not The Same Fragrance Anymore

I first heard of this fragrance from one of Michelle Phan’s early videos where she recommended this product. I jumped on it and immediately love it so much. I would spray it on to start my day and notice the fragrance would change throughout the day and towards the evening it would smell so lovely. It became my signature scent. I received so many compliments wearing it.
The current scent is not the same. It’s disheartening leaving this review because I truly loved the original fragrance. I wish Kiehl’s would just be honest with their customers and admit they’ve changed it. I’m still searching for a simmilar product to the original formula so for the meantime I’ll continue to wear this scent but I’m not happy with it. Please return to the original formula. Thank you.

Not the same formula

I have read other reviews claiming this formula was not the same. And they are right. I had an 3 year old bottle that I kept at my parents house and was recently able to go visit them. I brought the bottle back and sprayed did a smell test between the old bottle and the one I bought last year. No surprises - they are completely different. the new one is more flowery than musky. If you like a musk scent, I don't recommend buying this product until Kiehls gets the message and goes back to the old formula - or if they claim the formula is the same, change it to make it more musky.

Great for layering

Original Musk smells vintage, similar to Chanel No 5 but without aldehydes, which makes it more mellow. It has somewhat of a cult status among the “fragheads” because it is great for layering with other fragrances. OM took me out of my comfort zone and made me slowly start appreciating all of its nuances. If you are into musk, this would be a worthwhile, versatile addition to your collection.
