Odd foundation

This one is easy to overdo and will make you look like an extra in a zombie flick if you apply too much. Though it didn't dry out my skin or make my pores look huge, it did cause new breakouts every day I tested it, while some areas of my face looked noticeably clearer. And by the end of the day in some lighting I could not help but miss the HUGE exaggerated lined patch of excema I have on one cheek, which is usually unnoticeable. The lines looked like deep craters. Too bad because a light application with a fan brush did give my skin a dewy look, however it couldn't cover any raised imperfections, made my skin itch a little, and by the end of the day my extremely dehydrated skin almost seemed to have an oily cast to it. So given that it was not buildable and couldn't cover blemishes until it looked like a mask, emphasized lines and caused breakouts, I had to return it.

Didn't Like This Powder

Proslight, not for wrinkles, good color
I have several Laura Mercier products, so I thought that the face powder would be as good; I was disappointed. I'm almost 70, but look like I'm in my fifties with very few wrinkles and lines, but this powder managed to bring out every line and every wrinkle that I have. The color was great, but it was "age-enhancing" for me. I moisturize liberally because I have very dry skin, and I do have a face powder that just does NOT show up wrinkles and lines, but the shade seems to go orange-ish on me even though I use the lightest shade available. I bought the Tender Rose shade, and it didn't become orange on me, but oh, those wrinkles and lines! I don't recommend this product for anyone who is trying to de-emphasize their age. It's for the younger set.

Dream come true!

I never thought I could love a mineral powder foundation. Others have made my pores look bigger with an icky sheen. Real sand is my perfect shade (MAC nc15-nc20). It's very nice for setting light coverage foundation like MAC face & body (a more full coverage liquid foundation underneath might be too much and get cakey). I will be distraught if this ever discontinued! I love how I can even rely on it on its own when I'm pressed for time.
Real sand in the pressed mineral foundation though is much paler in color, looks heavier and exaggerated fine lines I don't usually have. Be informed that the shades don't necessarily match up in the different formulas.

Proslight, natural, comfortable
I had purchased this but kept having trouble finding the right shade and felt the coverage wasn't enough so I returned it. BIG MISTAKE! instead of trying to find the right shade, I kept trying other foundations and even though I found one that was pretty great with coverage and feel it had so much junk ingredients! After trying so many with prices varying from $20-80 I came back to Laura Mercier found the right shade finally! loved it! Everything about it down to the ingredients. TRY IT!
