Prosbest toner, non-irritating, pleasant scent, for combo skin, evens skin's ph, beautiful bottle
I have several chronic illnesses which affect my skin and now that I'm in my 30's, I'm definitely noticing a change in my skin - it's not quite as "youthful" and forgiving as it once was. That being said, I have tried probably 50% of the skin care products available in the US (low-end to high-end) and I have found a handful (literally 5) "Holy Grail" products - this is one of them. I use this every morning as a replacement for washing (I wash my face thoroughly at night, but it is not recommended that you wash it with soap again in the morning unless you sweat a lot or something because it overly strips the natural oils in your skin which basically keep you young-looking) - this is my go-to in the AM because it really does seem to balance out my skin's pH - it seems to moisturize the parts of my face that need moisture and not cause blemishes on the more oily areas of my face. It does not leave any greasy feeling or any sort of residue whatsoever; it readily absorbs into your skin and I can honestly say it has not only evened out my combination skin, but it has reduced some fine lines as well. The scent is noticeable but very faint and not at all overpowering - it fades away within minutes and isn't irritating (the product itself isn't irritating to me either, and I have difficulties both with allergies to MANY skin care products as well as to the fragrances in them). I have tried all kinds of toner-like products and this is THE ONE that works the best for me. The price is a little steep, but even the smaller bottle lasts a LONG TIME for me (with daily use, at least 6-8 months), so I consider it a worthwhile investment. Definitely worth a try if you have combination skin like I do and you're at that age when your skin is trying to start to age and you are looking for an easy product to use that won't irritate your skin. Plus the bottles (both small and large) are STUNNING on your vanity!! A++++++!

Prosrefreshing, non-drying, makes skin glow, moisturizing
I decided to splurge when I purchased this. I'm so glad that I did. It is worth every penny! It does what it says. My skin looks glowing all day when I use this. I use it on clean skin before I use anything else. It even makes my skin look amazing after I apply my foundation. It smells wonderful too.

The revitalizing essence is a perfect combination of the regular wrinkle resist 24 and the enrich. Apply this with you hands, massage in lightly and any serum and moisturizer on top will perform. Leaves skin perfectly hydrated and glowing, on mark for foundation. The essence is one of shiseidos best kept secrets....

great but not life changing

i bought this based on the amazing reviews this product has received. i've been using it for a couple of months now and it does go on smooth and my skin does feel nice and refreshed. however i didn't experience any dramatic results that could warrant me to say this is the best toner/essence i've used. granted, i'm still young enough that perhaps i am not experiencing the full benefits and maybe down the line i'll come back to this since i do like shiseido products. but for now, once i finish this bottle i will probably explore once again and try something different.
